Made of solid poplar and cherry wood, finished with a natural beeswax/coconut oil polish. Each shelving unit is of a one of a kind piece of furniture in appearance as we do not stain or color the wood in any fashion. The construction of this shelf system is of mortise and tusk tenon joinery that was developed ages ago allowing for sturdy and simple assembly. No hardware or tools are required and instructions are included in the box. It's as simple as placing the shelf dividers into the positioning holes, adding the shelf boards and the sides then pushing the tusk tenons into the slots on the ends of the shelves. Simple instructions are included.
