Inside length of shelves are 44" and 8.25" height between shelves. The space between the shelf divider and the ends are 21.5".
The construction of this shelf system is of mortise and tusk tenon joinery that was developed ages ago allowing for sturdy and simple assembly. No hardware or tools are required and instructions are included in the box. It's as simple as placing the shelf divider into the bottom shelf, adding the top shelf and the sides then pushing the tusk tenons into the slots on the ends of the shelves.
